WHAT WE DO
The Valley Children's Center is a non-profit agency designed to reduce the trauma and advance the recovery of abused and neglected children. The Center provides a comfortable, private, child-friendly setting where abused children are interviewed by a trained forensic interviewer. These interviews are recorded for the purpose of assisting Law Enforcement and the Commonwealth's Attorney in the successful prosecution of child abuse cases.

We also provide immediate crisis intervention counseling to the victim, non-offending caregivers and siblings, and provide programs to enhance our community's understanding of child abuse and neglect. The Center is located in Staunton, Virginia. Valley Children's Center Homepagehttp://valleychildrenscenter.org/

The Valley Children’s Center (VCC), with the help of the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County business community, will be holding our 1st Annual Valley Children's Center Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk. The event will take place on Thanksgiving morning, November 22nd, 2012 at 9:00am at The Club at Ironwood. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Valley Children’s Center.

Valley Children’s Center is a non-profit Children’s Advocacy center, designed to reduce the trauma and advance recovery of abused and neglected children. The Center provides a comfortable, private, child-friendly atmosphere where children can be interviewed by a trained forensic interviewer in partnership with law enforcement and Child Protective Services. The interviews are recorded for use by the Commonwealth’s Attorney to enhance the investigation and prosecution of abuse allegations. I am inviting you to join us in the cause for fighting child abuse in our community. Your participation is instrumental, in both the continued success of this event and the support of the Valley Children’s Center. Approximately 30% of VCC’s operating costs come from fundraisers and public donations. Please see our corporate sponsorship form to see how your business can get involved. I hope you will consider one of the sponsorship levels and help us help the most vulnerable children in our community.

Sincerely,

Janet Mizzi Flavin
